
Young Nepal went down 1-2 to India in the second friendly match played at Dasharath stadium on Sunday.
Nepal missed as many as four clear goal scoring chances that left thousands of spectators inside the stadium frustrated. Manish Dangi, Aashish Lama and Bishal Rai squandered the beautiful goal scoring chances.
The first half was barren but India changed their game play and scored two goals in the second half. Farukh Choudhary scored first in 62nd minute utilizing a header pass from skipper Sunil Chhetri.
Nepal then pressed hard, relied on counter moves. On 80th minute, they failed with their strategy as skipper Sunil Chhetri scored on a counter move but he didn't celebrate the goal, as usual.
Nepal intensified their attacks and found the net with Tej Tamang who fired the ball home from almost 30 yard distance.
Nepal had played 1-1 draw against India in the first friendly match played on September 2, 2021.
Now Nepal head towards Doha, Qatar for 17-day long camp before they travel to Maldives for SAFF Championship 2021.
The SAFF event starts from October 1, 2021 in Male. Five countries are competing in the event.
