Nepal are out from AFC U23 Asian cup as they suffered second loss in the qualifiers on Thursday night in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Tajikistan went three goals clear by half-time in their second outing, with Shervoni Mabatshoev, Sharafjon Solehov and Rustam Soirov finding the back of the net in the 24th, 32nd and 39th minutes respectively.
Nepal needed a win to keep their slim qualification chances alive, but the writing was on the wall for Bal Gopal Maharjan’s side when Muhammadali Azizboev made it four on the hour mark, and there would be no let up from the dominant Central Asian side.
Vahdat Hanonov converted a 68th minute penalty to put Tajikistan on top of the table on goal difference, before 19-year-old substitute Emomali Amadkhon rounded out the scoring four minutes later.
Tajikistan will meet Iran in a group decider. Nepal will play against Lebanon in an academic match on October 31.
