Simara Gold Cup Football Tournament will have a cash purse of Rs 3 Lakhs, which is the highest cash prize among Mofasal Knockout football tournaments.

Bara District Football Vice President and the secretary of tournament organizing Committee, Shambu Thakuri revealed GoalNepal.com that the tournament would offer the prize money of Rs 3 Lakhs. The Runners up team will get half of that amount.

"We are happy to offer this prize money to lure big Clubs in Simara", Thakuri said, "There is a huge football craze in our region. We want our people to enjoy big matches here. We will do everything possible to make this tournament successful".

The tournament - which is starting from February 14 - is organized by Rastriya Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club.
