Sep 20, 2012 07:33:36 PM - Nepal Head Coach Krishna Thapa: Right Substitution Changed The Pace Of The Game

Nepal Head Coach Krishna Thapa said that the right substitution in second half had changed the game that ended 1-1 against Bangladesh at Dasrath Stadium.

Nepal came from a goal down to level the score 1-1. Nepal dominated the field but had to leave the field stalemate.

Coach Thapa said that fielding Jumanu was his right decision and it did change the pace of the game.

Speaking in the post match conference , coach Thapa said,"We made the right substitution. It changed the pace of the game. After fielding Jumanu Rai, the pace of the game became high."

Commenting on debutant Bimal Gharti  Magar's performance, Thapa said, " It was a good show from Bimal in his first international match. He  played well."

"I took a risk of fielding him in the first eleven. He didn't depress me".

He said that his defenders couldn't create wall which facilitated Bengali player Zahid Hossan to score a goal against them.

"Our defenders fail to make good combination in the line", Coach Thapa said, "The goal that we conceded was the fault of defenders. They couldn't make a strong wall which the Bengali player utilized".

Thapa, however, praised the performance of midfielders especially of Bhola Silwal.
