Maldives National football team coach Istavan Urbanyi admitted that he was happy to win the match against Nepal 2-1 im Nehru Cup Thursday despite not having the fitness level of his boys in par level.
Speaking with the press after the match, Coach Urbanyi said, "We had Ramadan and players were busy in local league. The fitness level of the players is not in par level. Despite the low, we managed to win the match. We were not in shape but Nepal were in worse condition. We could utilize their disadvantage".
"Our main player Ali Ashfaq is also not in shape. If he was 100% fit, he would have scored at least two or three goals more", Urbanyi said.
Coach Urbanyi also added that he wasn't carried away with the win but would remain focused for next match.
"We are playing next against India and we know how difficult it would be playing against the hosts", Urbanyi said, "But we are ready. We are ready for every matches".
