Funeral rites of ANFA Academy player Ranjan Thapa, who died on the spot in a bus accident at Simle on Tuesday morning, was carried out in Pokhara on Wednesday morning.
Deceased Thapa was brought to Pokhara on Tuesday evening from Gajuri, Dhadhing where the post-mortem was done.
Thapa's relatives, well wishers, ANFA member Ganesh Bhattarai, ANFA Kaski officials, Sahara Club officials, journalists and Pokhreli football fans were present at the funeral ceremony to bid adieu to late Thapa.
Thapa , who was encamped in Butwal Academy three years ago, was the resident of Lamachour, Pokhara.
In the accident, other three ANFA Academy players Sagar Pariyar, Milan Hitang and Samrat Blon were also injured.
Four of these players met an accident when they were returning central ANFA Academy Kathmandu after appearing exams in Butwal.
The four players recently got selected in central ANFA Academy from Butwal ANFA Academy after their outstanding performance in recently held AFC U-14 festival in Kathmandu.
Their participation also helped Elite Boarding School, Butwal to lift the title of Subroto Mukherjee Cup last year.
