All Nepal Football Association's Butwal Football Academy says they are mourning over the loss of prolific defender Ranjan Thapa who lost his life in a bus accident on Tuesday morning.
Four ANFA academy boys were travelling from Butwal to Kathmandu after appearing in a SLC supplement examination.
"We are deeply shocked. We can't believe that Ranjan is no more with us", ANFA academy hostel incharge Bikash Gurung told GoalNepal.com.
Thapa, who was encamped in Butwal Academy three years back, was recently included in central ANFA academy after his rocking performance in AFC U-14 football festival held few months back in Kathmandu .
"He was an outstanding player. He played important role in guiding Elite Boarding School to win Subroto Mukherjee Cup. He was a versatile player in defense line. He was like Rohit Chand. Even ANFA President Ganesh Thapa rated him as next Rohit Chand", Gurung added.
