GoalNepal.com can confirm that All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has confirmed its participation in Nehru Cup that India is hosting from August 22 in New Delhi, India.
The reliable source at AIFF told GoalNepal.com that ANFA happily accepted the offer.
The name of Philippines and Nepal had come up as possible short notice replacement for Kenya in Nehru Cup but Philippines rejected the offer opening the door for Nepal.
The All India Football Federation has been left scrambling to find a replacement for Kenya in the up-coming Nehru Cup 2012, after the East African nation Kenya suddenly pulled out.
Kenya opted to play a friendly match against Jamaica in USA rather than participating in Nehru Cup.
Five international teams; Nepal, Kenya, Maldives, Syria and Cameroon, along with hosts India are now going to compete in the tournament which is going to be held in the AIFF's 75th anniversary year.
The Nehru Cup is scheduled to start from August 22 in New Delhi.
