GoalNepal.com has learned from the source that some muslim South Asian countries have written to South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) to change the date of 2nd SAFF Women championship which is scheduled in September in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Muslim countries mainly; Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have written to SAFF to change the date as they said they were finding it difficult to train in Ramadan month.
The month is spent by Muslims fasting during the daylight hours from dawn to sunset.
Sri Lanka is all set to organize 2nd SAFF Women Championship in the first week of September in Colombo.
GoalNepal.com has learned that Pakistan FA has raised the question on the schedule of the event.
"We have written to the South Asian Football Federation to hold the competition in October. We can prepare well if our request is accepted", PFF secretary Col Ahmad Yar Khan Lodhi was quoted as saying.
Lodhi added, "It looks hard to prepare the team during Ramadan month (August) as the players need to fast whole month".
But the hosts Sri Lanka and the organizing body, SAFF haven't published any official statement on this issue.
Nepal is all set to start the camp for the championship soon after the finish of 14th NCell National Women Championship on August 13.
