14th National Women's Championship kicked off in Chandranigahapur, Rautahat on Saturday.
NSC Member Secretary Yubraj Lama, ANFA President Ganesh Thapa, All Nepal Women's Football Association (ANWFA) President Kalpana Piya Shrestha, other ANFA officials and distinguished guests were present in the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony begun with a short cultural program.
ANFA Prez Ganesh Thapa thanked Rautahat FA for the proper management of the Championship.
He also announced that ANFA would organize Women's League in Kailali and Kanchanpur in Magh.

ANWFA President Kalpana Piya Shrestha expressed her happiness over the good preparation done by Rautahat FA. She also wished best wishes to all the participating teams.
Shrestha said," I am very happy to see the preparation done by Rauthahat FA. I would like to wish all the best to all the participating teams."

NSC Member Secy Yubraj Lama welcomed the teams and also wished good luck for the Championship.
Rautahat took on Nawalparasi in the opening match of the tournament.
In all, 27 teams — 24 districts and three departmental teams are participating in the event which has a winning cash purse of Rs 300,000. The runners up team will receive half of that amount. The losing semi-finalists will also get Rs 50,000 each.
Best player in each department of the tournament will get Rs 25,000 each.
Rautahat, Nawalparasi, Taplejung, Surkhet, Kailali, Saptari, Morang, Bardiya, Panchthar, Dolakha, APF, Jhapa and Dhanusha will play in Rautahat. The semifinal winner from Chandranigahapur will join another semifinal winners in Bara in the final on August 13.
Udaypur, Kathmandu, Kanchanpur, Dhankuta, Bara, Makawanpur, NPC, Sarlahi, Kaski, TAC, Rupandehi, Sunsari, Chitwan and Banke will play their knockout matches in Bara.
ANFA will select the best players from the Championship for up-coming SAFF Championship.
