Sri Lanka is organizing 2nd SAFF Women Football Championship in the first week of September 2012.

ANFA President Ganesh Thapa confirmed the date of the championship.

"Sri lanka has confirmed its hosting", Thapa said, 'All South Asian countries will take part in the event", Thapa added.

The inaugural event was held in Chittagong, Bangladesh in 2010 but couldn't be held in subsequent years due to sponsorship problems.

It is learned that Sri Lanka FA have already started the preparation of the event.
