Gyanodaya Boarding School defeated New Diamond Academy 2-0 in Coca Cola Cup Selection Football Tournament played on Friday at Sanogaucharan football ground.

Rohit Gurung scored both goals in 66th and 70th minutes respectively.

Hindu Bidhya Peeth Nepal toiled hard to beat Wisdom Academy 5 - 4 on penalties. The match was forced to spot kick battle after both teams played 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Chahana International School hammered HIMS School 5-0. Rajib Raj, Biku Gurung, Suman Shrestha, Sonam Rai and Bikash Thapa scored apiece for the winning side.

Kumari Sishusadan Ma VI thrashed Nepal Rastriya Ma Vi 7-1 in another match played at the same venue. Keshab Pathak scored four goals alone while Pemba Dorje, Dawa Sherpa and Dip Raj scored apiece for Kumari.

Arunima Ma VI defeated Chelsea International Academy 3-0 in the last match of the day.

Aakash Lama struck twice while Bishal Sapkota added another for the winning side.


Total 511 school teams of Nepal are participating in the tournament which has a cash prize of Rs.2,00,000.

The tournament is orgnized by ANFA with the help of Ministry of Sports and is sponsored by Bottlers Nepal Pvt. Ltd., producer of Coca-Cola.
