Nepal U-22 Head Coach Krishna Thapa said that his boys were completely drained mentally and physically against Jordan which forced them to face bitter defeat at the hands of Arabian giant on Friday.
Speaking with the press after ending the qualifiers, coach Thapa said, "We didn't have enough training to compete against strong teams like Jordan and Uzbekistan".
"We had just one and half month training which was not enough to compete against strong teams", Thapa added, "See in today's match, we were completely lacking behind them (Jordan). We were technically, tactically and physically behind them".
"It is just because we had to play four matches in seven days", Coach Thapa added, "You can't play competitive four matches in seven days. It is too hard. Other teams had three or four days rest but we didn't have that previledge".
Thapa also mentioned that international friendly matches ahead of the qualifiers could have made them strong enough to compete against Arabian teams.
"We couldn't play international matches ahead of the qualifiers. If we had played some, boys would have gathered some confidence to play against strong teams".
Thapa, however, said that he was happy with his boys.
"I am happy with them. They performed their best. We just lacked proper training for this qualifiers", Thapa added.
