Nepal National U-22 team skipper, Bharat Khawas said sorry to Nepalese football fans for their loss to Uzbekistan but said that Uzbeks were not alien and his team could have beaten them if the boys had worked little more.
Speaking exclusively with GoalNepal.com after the match, skipper Khawas said, "We didn't play bad either. We were little sloppy in the defense and goalkeeping. Otherwise, we matched the level of Uzbekistan".
"We conceded two early goals but we worked really hard to level the score", Khawas added, "But sadly we couldn't maintain the same tempo in second half".
"We gave good account of ourself. If we had improved our game in defense and goalkeeping we could have simply beaten them", Khawas said.
"On behalf of the team, I am sorry to all the fans", Khawas added, "Thanks for supporting us. We will learn more, train hard to perform better in up-coming tournaments".
"We need your support", Khawas concluded.
Uzbekistan is in 60th position in FIFA Ranking while Nepal lies in 149th position.
