Bhojpur District Football Association (BDFA) is organizing Bhojpur Gold Cup football tournament from Friday in Bhojpur.
Eight teams are participating the tournament which has a cash purse of Rs 1,50,000.
The secretary of BDFA, Prabin Kumar Suwal spoke to GoalNepal.com about the possibility of producing good players from the local tournaments in hilly regions.
"No doubt on that. There are many talented players in the hilly regions. Bhojpur has many talented players. All they need is a timely exposure".
"Bhojpur, Khotang, Ilam, Shankhuwasabha, Solukhumbhu districts can produce good football players if given proper attention from the concerned authorities", Suwal said.
"This kind of local tournaments has provided them a platform to show their talent", Suwal told GoalNepal.com
"BDFA is also looking to start youth academy which we think will ingite more interest among the young football players in this region", Suwal added.
