What Happens When Team Surprisingly Wins With A Huge Margin - Interesting Story To Share

Needing A Nine-Goal Swing To Qualify, Bahrain Wins Match 10-0.

Here's every goal in Bahrain's 10-0 thumping of Indonesia, which was already fielding a bunch of junior players due to internal suspensions. Indonesia's goalkeeper was sent off in the third minute, and the floodgates opened.

Bahrain came into play 9 goals back of Qatar in their World Cup qualifying group, so naturally FIFA has opened a "routine" investigation.World football governing body FIFA announced this week that they have initiated an investigation into Bahrain’s massive 10-0 in over Indonesia in their last qualifying match from Group D for the 2014 World Cup.

“Given the unusual outcome in relation to the results-expectation and head-to-head history, and in the interests of maintaining unequivocal confidence in our game, FIFA Security will conduct a routine examination of this game and its result,” a FIFA statement said.

The loss of goalkeeper Samsidar to a red card just two minutes in gave the advantage to Bahrain, who needed to score at least nine goals and hoping that Iran beat Qatar in the other tie, for them to have the chance of making the next round.

And score they did as Mohammed Tayeb and Sayid Dhiya both scored hat-tricks in the pummeling victory in Manama. But in the end, the win was futile following the 2-2 draw between Qatar and Iran in Teheran saw the former making the passage to the fourth round of the qualifiers. (From FIFA)

Is it match fixing?
