Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has decided to lodge an official complaint against the comments made by Afghanistan Coach, Yousuf Karger after the SAFF Championship final match on 11th of December in New Delhi.
After losing the final match 0-4 to India, Afghanistan Coach, Karger blamed Indian origin of Singaporean referee, Sukhbir Singh for being biased to them.
“The referee was partial to us. I don’t know whether he is a Sikh or a Hindu and hence he supported the team. We will report to AFC how an inexperienced referee was handed to conduct the final match", this was the statement made by Coach Karger that irked Singapore FA.
The referee, Singh had given penalty kick in favor of India and had flashed our direct red card to Afghanistan goalie, Hamedullah for man handling case.
"We will be bringing up our concerns to the attention of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) regarding the unfortunate comments reportedly made by Afghanistan officials towards Sukhbir that questioned his integrity and impartiality," a FAS spokesman was quoted saying.
