AFC delegation met with officials from A Division clubs at ANFA complex on Wednesday to finalize the date of Martyrs Memorial A Division league.
AFC is helping ANFA to structure the league as it was not held for two years.
AFC presented a schedule of the league that runs from April to November.
AFC has strictly asked ANFA to host matches on weekend. The proposed A Division league will be played only on Friday and Saturday.
No national league:
There is no national league this season. National league will start from 2018 after all teams from outside the valley complete AFC club licensing requirements.
A Division league 2017 in Kathmandu:
Venues haven't been finalized. 12 clubs from Kathmandu will play the league. Three Star Club, MMC, Nepal Police, Nepal Army, APF, Friends Club, Himalayan Sherpa Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club, Machhindra FC, Sankata Club, Saraswati Youth Club & Brigade Boys Club
League runs for seven months!
Prize Money Will Be Less Than 1 Crore:
The prize money for the winning team will be less than 1 crore. Participating teams will receive preparation money and match money.
No relegation is imposed this season. Teams from outside the valley will be included - subject to AFC club licencing requirements - next year and the national league will be played.
What Clubs said?
Clubs asked AFC and ANFA to provide tournament and players registration details 45 days prior the kick off. They also asked them to form integrity department for match fixing and appeal committee with neutral personalities.
