The regional stadium where-to-build issue has been the boiling issue in the country in sports fraternity.

A different scene was seen at National sports council for this issue on Saturday.

NSC Veeps; Pitamber Timilsina and Kishor Jhapali Rai alleged the member secretary’s indifference regarding the construction of regional stadium at Dharan.

some miscreants also vandalized MSC MS HAri Babu Choudhary's office.

“An unidentified group came up to pressurise the sports governing body but our member secretary ignored their demands which ultimately resulted into the incident,” said Timilsina was quoted as saying.

According to Timilsina and Rai, Chaudhary remained mum on the selection of the construction site for the regional stadium which is about to freeze the allocated budget.

Timilsina and Rai also said they will now submit a six-point memorandum to Youth and Sports Minister Ganesh Nepali on Sunday demanding the disclosure of the minute book of the allocated budget for the regional stadium. The duo have demanded clarification of freezing the budget allocated for the construction of five regional stadiums and overall transaction report of the 11th South Asian Games held in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the Nepal National and International Players’ Association have condemned the vandalism at the NSC office.

The News coming from Itahari also suggests that local people are planning to bandh Eastern Region to pressurize the government for making a regional stadium in their region. Similar activities have been planned in Dharan area also.
