Ward No 13 defeated Ward no 17 3-1 in the opening match of 13th Godhuli Cup football tournament that got underway from Tuesday at ANFA Technical Centre, Dharan.

Ward no 13 took a playful lead in early 7th minute through Prakash Limbu. Limbu utilized the rebounded ball off ward no 17 goalie, Jiwan Rai to open the firing.

Subindra Rai levelled the score for Ward no 17 in 36th minutes.

Ashok Katuwal doubled the tally for ward no 13 three minutes later.

Ashok Katuwal again scored in 64th minutes to seal the victory. Two goal hero Katuwal was adjudged man of the match.

Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by ANFA VP Kishor Jhapali.

Ward no 8 will take on Ward no 15 in Wednesday's match. The tournament is being played on knockout basis.
