Armed Police Force (APF) sidelined NIBL Friends Club 4-3 in a goal-savvy thriller to enter quarterfinals in 2nd Safal Pokhara Cup football tournament played at Pokhara stadium on Tuesday.
APF had also beaten NIBL Friends 3-2 in the group stage match of recently held Ncell Cup football tournament.
The opening match had everything. Tempo, goals and excitement.
Notably, Arjun Subba made the difference for APF.
Coming from the bench in the second half, Subba struck twice in 63rd and 88th minutes and Shyam Nepali scored another for APF before midfielder prodigy Jagjeet Shrestha scored two late goals to give some hopes to Kopundle based club.
Earlier, Ganesh Lawati put APF ahead in the match in 36th minutes but Ritesh Malla levelled the score in 40th minutes before going to the break.
Jagjeet Shrestha could have changed the story if he hadn't squandered the penalty kick right after the break.
Shyam Nepali was declared man of the match.
